Situational Awareness Systems
Octec Limited (Part of GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms) have introduced the IPS5000 image processing system for multiple sensor, situational awareness systems (also known as Distributed Aperture Sensor Systems DAS).
IPS5000 greatly improves the performance of video based surveillance assets and their operators by offering a previously unattainable level of situational awareness.
By an advanced 'visualization' technique the IPS5000 system will interface to an array of sensors and process these into a real time video panorama that can be viewed by the operator using a 'virtual camera'. Rather than relying on the operator to detect contacts and events the systems 'data extraction' process detects and classifies these occurrences and indicates these through the visualization process.
IPS5000 offers:
- Instantaneous access to 360º high resolution real time panoramic video imagery from up to sixteen individual cameras
- Operator-friendly and intuitive user interface with a virtual camera
- Automatic, real time contact detection over the full sensor array
- Single display device required for multiple input streams, saving space & power
- Can be augmented with a cued or independent high resolution steer-able sensor
- Real time image fusion between visible and infrared cameras
IPS5000 is available in both an 'industrial' version (IPS5000 T) for fixed asset protection applications and a fully rugged version (IPS5000 R) for military vehicle applications.
